All successful female entrepreneurs will need perseverance, and the desire to learn and grow. Here are 5 powerful tips to guide today’s female entrepreneur.

There are a thousand little pointers and tips and strategies that we could give when it comes to the subject of becoming a successful female entrepreneur. But the fact is that no matter who you are, you have to boil that information down to just a few key guidelines that work for you. Any woman who succeeds in the avenue of business, finance, or some other long-time boy’s club will also need perseverance, as well as the desire to keep learning and growing in their knowledge and understanding of their chosen field.

Even those who perform perfectly and are ready for their role will likely find the double standard to be cumbersome. According to Vanessa Molica, one of the biggest problems she faces is being “labeled negatively when I’m direct,” she says. She goes on to say, “Even though it’s 2019, there is still a stereotype that women are supposed to sugarcoat everything.”

Don’t Fear Failure, Dare It

Something else that Vanessa and every other expert we consulted with told us in some form or another was that you could not allow the fear of failure to allow you second guess yourself. You have to be confident in your vision as well as your instincts. And you have to have the courage and conviction to stand by them, even when it is tempting to back off.

Be Honest Enough to Know What You Need Help With (and Ask!)

While we all admire courage and conviction, arrogance and stubbornness are an entirely different story. Make sure that you stay self-aware and humble enough to listen to advice about ways you may be able to make some aspect of the business more efficient. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from someone when you are out of your element, especially if you are a first-time entrepreneur. You can’t expect to be an expert on everything.

Seek Out a Mentor

In the spirit of heeding the counsel of others, having a mentor can do wonders for not only your professional life but your personal life as well. This could be someone from your past such as a teacher or professor. It could also be a particularly wise or successful family member or friend. Whoever you trust to bring into your life in that capacity is probably the right choice.

Hire a Business Coach

If you are looking for more work and business-focused mentoring and motivation, then going with a business coach would be our alternate suggestion. By making yourself accountable to someone else (and paying them to hold you to a high standard), it only makes sense that you would want to follow the plan that you and they work together to build for your success.

Learn to Delegate

As we mentioned before, you can’t be expected to be an expert on everything. Build a team of people around you that share your vision, believe in what you are doing and that you trust to perform some of your most important tasks. And then let them.

Being a female entrepreneur is hard – harder than most think. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do well. Keep our tips in mind and just remember to put one foot in front of the other, no matter what challenges you might face.
