Do get a kick out of being around young people? The consider working in education. Is the freedom of choosing your own schedule incredibly important to you? Then why not looking into any one of a variety of freelance career options? Don’t treat this question lightly, think about it very carefully. The last thing that you want to do is end up settling for something that leaves you just as unfulfilled as the job you just left.
Do you need to re-train?
So let’s say that you’ve figured out what it is that makes you happy. Now you have to figure out what it is that you can actually commit to if you need to re-train. Some careers, you can simply move over to with the skills that you have. Others will require a bit more work. If you want to go into something very specific like psychology, then training will be a necessity. Fortunately, you don’t need to set aside all of your time to achieve this. There are plenty of organisations out there that could help you get an online psychology bachelor’s degree. That way you can train for your new dream job without having to worry about quitting your current one right away.
Can you take a pay cut?
Unless the only thing that matters about a job is the salary, there’s a chance that you might find yourself taking a financial hit when you start a new job. Following your passion might improve your life, but you could also end up starting from the bottom and having to work your way up again. If that’s the case, then you need to ask yourself if you’re able to take that drop in pay. If you have a partner, then make sure to discuss it with them as well. The last thing you want is to find yourself financially crippled by something that was supposed to be a positive force in your life.
