Ping pong is becoming a staple in a lot of startups and offices around the world
How many startups have popped up since the start of the year? How many startups have popped up since we began this journey through this article together? At least one, I would like to believe or my next transition is going to be very weak. Anyway, startups are starting up all the time. Some are destined to become the next Google or Facebook, while others are fated to become the next, well, company that we have never heard of.
One thing is certain, when a new company starts, all through its success, and onto its ongoing journey or journey’s end, there is one thing which is consistent.
Stress
It is stressful to create a startup. It is stressful to work for a startup. In this changing world, it is stressful to work for most companies, but startups are particularly plagued with stress. There is a constant thought stuck in the back of the heads of the creators and employees. Will this last? No one really ever knows if a startup is going to last or not until it either does or does not.
Stress is the one thing which is consistently experienced by every employee in a startup. With that in mind, it is no wonder that so many startups are trying new and old ways of dealing with this stress. If it goes unchecked, employees leave, founders become angry, companies can fall apart, and lives can be left desolate.
So, what do we do?
Thee are many ways to deal with this stress. The key is finding something which can become part of office life, does not interfere with the workday, is fun, and works. You need a way to get your stress, anger, and aggression out. If you can be active while getting this release, then all the better. Which leads us to…
Ping pong
Ping pong is becoming a staple in a lot of startups and offices around the world. If you want one, then check out bestpingpongtables.io. The combination of getting to hit something with a bat, concentration, and being active seems like a recipe for success, but can it be beneficial to individuals, and startups in particular?
Ping pong is great for improving your concentration and focus. If you compare ping pong to tennis, it is on a smaller scale and a lot faster. The active element is there, but the focus and concentration are enhanced. You do not have much time to think. You need to train your brain to make quick decisions and focus on the future. When you get back to your desk, that concentration and focus are going to carry over.
You can also wave goodbye to stress. I love to bash the keys of my keyboard when something is not going right. Why not bash a ball with some paddles? Much more satisfying.
Can it really help?
There is no doubt that stress is relieved and brain function is improved, but your physical state is also improved. Play enough, and you will lose weight. It also creates team camaraderie and competition. The best part? It is affordable and easy to pick up/
If you combine the weight loss with engagement, increased brain function, and stress relief, then your workplace is going to be a better place to work. Your employees are going to be more focused, energetic, and, most importantly, stress-free.
