Nurses form a vital part of the medical profession. They are the ones who run walk-in clinics, will administer flu jabs to those who need it, they will lead teams of nurses within a hospital environment and make decisions regarding practice and medication. You aren’t just confine to the hospital though-  you can also branch into clinics, research, management and education. You could even find yourself working in the military.
Qualifications
As with any medical profession, you will need to undergo a course and training in order to become a fully qualified nurse practitioner. First of all you will want to decide whether to go to college you’re your course or do an Online RN to BSN Degree Program. Then you will want to decide what area of nursing you want to go into. It could be that you want to work with adults, children, the disabled, or those with mental illness. This is the first thing you need to decide before choosing the relevant course.
Finding Your Degree
Doing a quick search online and looking at the different colleges or online options in your area is the easiest way to decide what course to do. You could decide that you want to do the course part time alongside your job until you are ready to leave and start your new career or you may want to jump in at the deep end and go full time right away. Make sure you read the entry requirements and the specification before you apply.

Fund Your Degree
If you are already working in a full time job to support your family, you will need to start learning how to budget your money effectively in order to afford your training. Take the time to look through your bank statement at the end of the month and start putting money aside in a savings account. Eventually you will earn enough to start.
If you don’t want to wait that long you can explore the idea of getting a bursary or going on an apprenticeship as you learn the skills required. Your clinic or hospital will pay for the course for you and train you up within the hospital or clinic to become part of their team.
