Blogging while working a full-time job isn’t easy and can be hard to balance the time you spend on it during the week.
Blogging is a hobby which many people take on in order to get their ideas and inspiration down on paper and share it with the world. It is an amazing hobby which can take you on some amazing journeys and allow you to have some great opportunities.
Blogging while you also have a full-time job isn’t that easy, and it can be hard sometimes to balance the time you spend on it during the week. Here are some of the different things that you can do in order to run a great blog while loving your everyday life.
Use free tools
There are so many free tools on offer for you to use with your blog, so make sure that you take advantage of them! For example, there is an app called Canva which allows you to make graphic designs for your blog posts, social media and for Pinterest too. You can also use a scheduling app such as Buffer which allows you to bulk create social media posts and schedule them for the next few days. Tools like these can make a big difference and save you a lot of time on engagement with your audience.
Ask for help
Asking for help when blogging should be your first port of call when things are getting too hard. Blogging is similar to working in Digital Marketing and this is a lot of work to handle on your own alongside a full-time job. If you are struggling to manage it, ask a family member or a friend if they can help you out with ideas. You don’t have to go it alone, there will always be people who will come and help you out if you have too much to do.
Braindump
When you have a spark of inspiration, make sure that you run with it. Inspiration can come at the most random time during the day, so make sure you get notes open on your phone and write it down! Take a few minutes to write down any ideas or inspiration you might have, even if you don’t get a solid idea right away. Just brain dump as often as you think of an idea and you can come back to it later.
Bulk write
If you have any time free one day, make sure that you take the time to write a few posts. It could be a lazy Sunday morning sitting in bed or an evening after work, but when you get the time, write 3-4 posts at once. This will make a big difference to your stress levels because you will be able to write down the posts and schedule them for later on during the week. It means that you don’t need to think about writing every day, and you have the time to come up with more content again afterward.
Have fun
The most important thing of all is to have some fun. Make sure that you are happy with your posts, that you enjoy blogging and also that you continue to enjoy the work that goes into it. The top priority is having fun, so make sure that you do!
