Tell us about yourself
My name is Natalie Norcross and I was born to a successful Mommy Entrepreneur who came from a long lineage of Mompreneurs. Her mother (my grandmother) still owns her own business, my mom had four sisters who all had daughters and all of us are successful in our own way. I have two sisters who also own their own business… So it is in my blood and I can’t get it out. Being a Mommy Entrepreneur was something that I grew up seeing my family do regularly so I didn’t know a different lifestyle but to be my own entrepreneur. I started my first business when I was 21 and launched my interior design business, Distinctive Design Co. to great success. My first year in business I grossed a couple million dollars and my business soared from there. I now run two successful businesses, Natalie Norcross, Inc. a Success based business where I am an Author, Speaker, Writer and Coach. I have launched several successful online programs and are just completing a book releasing to publishers in June 2014 called; “The 7 Success Secrets of Mommy Entrepreneurs” My other business is A Design Partnership, which is a design and branding agency focused on building brands that people fall in love with. I love business and am inspired by my life and my businesses. I also have a wonderful and supportive husband and 2 beautiful little boys and focus my attention on keeping balanced between my business, personal and family life.
What inspired you to become a personal life designer?
Being an Interior Designer in my first business and having a Success Coaching business second it came natural to coin “Life Designer” I personally really enjoy reading success stories of high net worth individuals that have a net worth over $200 milliion dollars and realized among a lot of them there was a common thread, where their moms were either working, working from home or successful in some way. My mission is to motivate Moms to be confident and secure in being a Mom and an Entrepreneur and I hope to encourage women to design the life they want and give them the courage and the tools to implement that into their everyday life.
Tell us a little about your book “The 7 Success Secrets of Mommy Entrepreneurs “
This book was really an inspiration out of wanting to give Mom’s an opportunity to find within themselves a voice and a purpose outside of being mom, wife or daughter. I really do believe that Mom’s have an ability to give themselves the success they are capable of and in turn they will live the example of that, which is the greatest gift you can give to your child. I think women feel guilty trying to balance being an entrepreneur and a Mom and I want to urge moms to not feel guilty but to feel motivated by what you do everyday and how that is giving your children a blueprint on how to live a successful life for themselves.
What was the biggest challenge you faced writing your book?
Getting so personal about my life and knowing it will be in the public. There is a lot of transparency that you face when writing a book and a lot of memories you have to go back to and relive and rewrite. That challenge though taught me how to expand, forgive and stay focused on my vision, to motivate moms through the tough times and help lift them up to say I have been there, I know times can be hard, but if you persevere and push through the moments you will live your life on the edge of your purpose and that is the place I want all moms to be. I truly believe in each of us lies a personal success signature (of which I talk about in my book in depth) and if we can tap into our personal success signature we can find our purpose and create a life that is fulfilling and rewarding.
Do you live your life by any mantras that help you to achieve your goals?
I do a daily meditation, affirmation and affirmative prayer and really believe that if you ask for something, God who is all love, ALWAYS gives it to you and the only reason it may not be showing up in your life is because YOU are not allowing it to come into your life. So I believe the way to get yourself in a place of allowing is to meditate, clear your mind, affirm your vision and do affirmative prayers. Then you will receive every time! At the end of every chapter in my book I have a guided meditation to allow the reader to get into the place to allow themselves to receive.
Any tips that you can give to other mompreneurs out there?
Seek and you shall find, Ask and you will receive. I hope to encourage moms to find their voice, to dig within to find their purpose and to lean in and do it. I hope to motivate moms to see that you can do it all, you can have it all and with a little vision and a lot of focus you can achieve anything your mind can conceive. I truly believe that the time for women is now and the Entrepreneur is the New Black. It is easier today to start a business then ever before.
Fun fact about yourself to share
I love to read and truly believe the best way to continue to be inspired and find inspiration is in reading inspirational books and stories, so I try (unless my kids are sick and not sleeping at night) to read one book a week. I encourage the individuals that I coach to read a book a week and I have a Success Based Book List of over 900 books to choose from. If you would like me to send you my FREE Success Based Book List please email me Natalie Norcross at Natalie@natalienorcross.com and in the subject put “Free Book List from Mompreneur Media.”
Thank you so much for allowing me to share my story with you today. My heart is filled with joy, love and gratitude for you. I hope that my stories and my ideas have motivated you to find your purpose and live the fulfilled life that you desire. Love, peace and many blessings, Natalie Norcross
