South Florida mom starts her own handmade business and helps women make a statement

It’s Mompreneur Monday and today’s Mompreneur Rockstar is Keisha Smith. Keisha took a product that she already loved and made it into something even better. Not only does her product make a statement, but her product is also handmade.

Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Keisha N. Smith I am the owner/creator of TreNique Lacquer/TreNique Beauty. I am 36 years old, I live in South Florida. I am also a mother of four beautiful children.

What inspired you to launch your business “Trenique Lacquer”?

TreNique Lacquer came about from my love of polishes, also from going to various nail salons and being limited to what they had or not being able to find a color that I really liked. So I decided to do my research and learn how to create my own line of polishes.

What is so unique about Trenique Lacquer?

TreNique is unique because I feel like our colors stand out! Their bold and bright and they make a statement. Wearing our colors and glitter toppers will definitely get your nails noticed. Not to mention our lacquers are all hand made.

How do you run a business around your busy family?

Running a business is not easy, but when you are doing what you love no matter the ups and downs you’re still enjoying every moment of it. As a family we work together , making a to do list helps. My business is very important to me, but family is always priority.

What kind of approximate start up costs were involved for Trenique Lacquer?

TreNique’s start up expenses we’re less than $1000. I wanted to start small. I wanted to take my time to build my business/brand.

Any rewarding experiences?

We’re a new company so we are still getting our name out there. We’ve been featured in a few nail blogs. Every time I read a review about our products I find myself smiling from ear to ear.

Fun fact about yourself to share 

I’m a very bright and colorful person. I love to laugh and have a good time. I enjoy my time with my family and friends just eating and creating lasting memories.
