Your employees will be working tirelessly, we hope, to make sure your business is running nice and smoothly. But what they get in return is next to nothing compared to what you get in terms of money and respect. A Long Day
A day in the life of your employees is long. We know your days might be filled with a million and things to do, but so is theirs. The only difference is you can come and go as you please, and stop as much as you want. They have to stick to the regimented routine you give them. So if you’ve got them working 8 or 10 hour shifts, it can sometimes feel like an entire day, especially if it’s stressful. And boy are their long days stressful. They’ll have deadlines and targets to meet, pressure to perform well in front of customers, and they’ll no doubt make a mistake or two. Most of your employees won’t enjoy a proper break. They’ll be eating their sandwiches working at the desk. Or perhaps they’ll pop out to get something from the local shop, but they’ll be straight back at it as soon as they come back. So, think about whether you could introduce more breaks, and release the reins a little bit on performance pressure. Work stress related illnesses are so common, and your employees don’t deserve it!
Looking Forward To Payday
For all the hard work they put in, there’s only two things they’re seeking. The end of the day to come, and payday to come even quicker. Money rules everything, and employees at the bottom of your company will be desperate for it. You wouldn’t believe how many companies take from employees as well. They’ll dock a few hours, take too much for ‘tax’, or do whatever else needed to give the company extra money!
