Mom launches SpikeBee to help other moms plan their classes and activities
No one knows better how busy your life is than another mom. Finding ways to keep the family active and interested in an activity can be a chore. That’s why one mom launched SpikeBee.
SpikeBee is a startup created for busy moms by a busy mom. Founder and CEO Jo-Anne Reynolds understands the hectic schedules that go along with parenting so she created a site that managed those activities.
While there is no data that accurately defines how many kids play sports you need only take a look at the number of harried mini-van driving moms shuttling kids between soccer and basketball practice to know that it’s a significant number.
An ESPN article analyzed several reports to try to define just how many kids participate in extracurricular activities. One report they studied showed that 21.5 million kids between ages 6 and 17 participate in sports and a second report estimated nearly 40 million. The article said that number could be far higher when you include kids that start sports before 6 years old.
It also doesn’t take into account adult activity. According to the IHRSA Health Club Consumer Report roughly 22.1 million Americans participate in group exercise.
That means that in any given week you may be managing your son’s baseball practice, your daughter’s soccer games, your bootcamp workouts and your husband’s adult league basketball game. Add that to dinner planning, work and other household chores and it’s enough to make you want to forget exercise and curl up with a blanket and a good book.
Find an activity to enjoy
SpikeBee helps you manage your family’s activities online so that you have less planning and more fun.
It’s easy and free to find activities to keep your kids busy during summer, Christmas or spring break. You can search by age, location, cost or category.
