Traveling mom entrepreneur, Caroline Cain, launches successful coaching business and teaches others how they too can have it all
If you missed it, we interrupted our regular mompreneur Monday’s schedule to celebrate the launch of my new portfolio site Mompreneur Graphics and to hold a giveaway. But we are back on track and ready to share with you our next guest.
One of the perks of being a mom entrepreneur or WAHM is that you have the FABULOUS opportunity of being able to work from anywhere your heart desires. A few of the places I love to work from other than my office are my kitchen table, the couch, and in the summer time my balcony or back deck.
Today’s Mompreneur Rockstar, Caroline Cain, created a business and lifestyle that affords her to work from anywhere in her home and any COUNTRY she so chooses. Today she comes all the way from Thailand to share with you just how she does it.
Welcome to Mompreneur Media Caroline Cain! Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m an English/French mama of a 16 month old, living in Koh Samui, Thailand with my family. I love the outdoors lifestyle and hearing the sounds of nature around me. Having been brought up all over the world, the travel bug is part of who I am. Today I live a life where I mix business, baby, boyfriend and beaches – four of my favourite things, funded by my location independent business.
What inspired you to start a coaching business?
In the last few months of my pregnancy and early months as a mama we made a very conscious decision as a couple that I set up my business online as part of the vision we have for our desired lifestyle as a family – based on freedom of time and location. As we don’t have family around to help us having flexibility was really important to us and as someone who is somewhat of an introvert this style of working also suited me as a person (as well as led the way to some challenges of course!).
What is so unique about your mentor programs?
They are 100% tailor made within the framework of my 10 step signature system so that mamas create a profitable coaching/mentoring/teaching/training business working from home according to their family structure. The element of travel is a big one for my clients who come to me inspired to create a fully sustainable online business allowing them to travel to exotic countries and fascinating cities. For example, we spent 3.5 months in France last summer, 4 months in Thailand right now (perhaps more) supported by the simple business model and systems that I use. Building a business around our core desired feelings and experience of life is the foundation that my business model is based upon meaning that success is inevitable when you’re living a life you love here and now!
What can a mom entrepreneur expect to gain from your programs?
The blueprint and foundations for a truly lifestyle based business complete with marketing structures that are fully aligned with who they are as women. They make more money working less hours whilst serving their clients at a high level. The business model that I use allows them to work part time, spend as much time as possible with their family and work from their laptop from wherever they happen to be in the world.
How do you run a business around your family and still have time to travel?
Being very clear on how we want to live and subsequently how I want to work is what makes this possible. I have a weekly schedule to keep me focused and productive as I’m a spontaneous person and am easily distracted by a million and one ideas. My schedule keeps me on track. The business model that I use allows me to work 4-5 hours, 4 days a week. As we’ve always lived abroad we haven’t had family around us so Myla has childcare for a few hours every day so that I can get some work done and get some space (something we all need as mamas whether we want to admit it or not!). We then have the afternoons free to go to the beach, hang out at home or some other fun activity. This pattern changes according to where we are living and what our situation is. As my business travels with us it’s mainly a question of re-assessing what the day looks like for us – flexibility is key here and frequently checking into what is working or not working for us (which I recommend to all of my clients whether they are travelling or not).
Where do you plan on traveling next?
Right now we’re waiting for our visas for Australia. We plan to live in Sydney for a couple of years. We’ll make the most of travelling around Australia and in and around Asia during that time.
A fun fact about you to share:
I’d flown around the world twice by the time I was 10…and I’m afraid of chickens!
